Britt Bethea was born in Pensacola, FL, and grew up in Mobile, AL. He attended the Eastman School of Music in Rochester, NY, and graduated cum laude from the University of Alabama with a Bachelor of Arts degree in political science and minors in computer science and music. He earned a Juris Doctorate degree from the University of Alabama School of Law. During law school, he received the Judge Hodnett Academic Merit Scholarship and the Dean’s Service Award. Britt was also selected by his peers to join the Bench and Bar Legal Honor Society, the John A. Campbell Moot Court Board, and the Trial Advocacy Competition Class.
Britt is admitted to practice in all state and federal courts in Alabama and Mississippi, and all state courts in Florida. He is also admitted to practice in the federal courts for the northern and middle districts of Florida, the 11th Circuit Court of Appeals, and the United States Supreme Court. Britt maintains a Preeminent AV rating with Martindale-Hubble, which recognizes lawyers with the highest level of professional skill and integrity. Britt regularly speaks at legal education seminars, and has spoken recently on workers’ compensation laws, hospital liens and subrogation, and evidentiary matters.
Britt is a licensed pilot and enjoys many hobbies, including spearfishing, hunting, triathlon, and music. He lives in Mobile with his wife and three children. They attend Spring Hill Baptist Church.
