Leonard H. Stone is a co-founder of Shook & Stone and has been a trial attorney for more than 18 years. As a founding partner, Leonard has played a significant role in establishing the firm as a highly regarded plaintiffs' law firm committed to individual rights. Leonard's practice focuses on personal injury litigation as well as all forms of Disability Law.
As a trial lawyer and negotiator, Leonard has recovered millions of dollars for deserving clients, handling many of the firm's most complex and most valuable claims.
Leonard received his Bachelor of Arts Degree with honors from Brandeis University before earning his Juris Doctorate from Loyola Marymount University Law School in Los Angeles. He was admitted to the State Bar of Nevada in 1995 and is a long-time member of the Nevada Justice Association, currently serving on its Board of Governors. Leonard is a member of the American Association of Justice ("AAJ"), the American Bar Association, the State Bar of Nevada, and the Consumer Attorneys of California.
During his career, Mr. Stone has routinely volunteered his time and efforts to causes aimed at protecting the rights of consumers against insurance companies, businesses, and government bureaucracies. He has helped organize the legal community against tort reform and has fought for the enforcement of ethical practices with regard to representation of injury and disability clients. Mr. Stone has served as the acting delegate for the State of Nevada with the AAJ, the world's largest and most prestigious trial bar.
Outside the courtroom, Leonard is very active in the Community. Leonard is a past Chairman of the Jewish Federation of Las Vegas, and currently serves on its Board. He is a past recipient of the Jewish Community's Young Leadership Award for outstanding service and has represented his community nationally as a member of the Young Leadership Cabinet. He is the current President of the Jewish Community Center of Southern Nevada.
Mr. Stone is also a busy husband and father of two children. His wife Judith is the Director of Marketing for the Shops at Crystals, Aria Las Vegas. He enjoys traveling, various types of exercise, and alpine skiing.
