Kathryn Snapka received her B.B.A. from Texas A&M University and her J.D. from Baylor University of Law. After law school, she served as a briefing attorney for the Court of Civil Appeals for the Sixth Supreme Judicial District in Texarkana. She was admitted to the State Bar of Texas in 1981 and is licensed to practice before U.S. District Court, Southern District of Texas and Northern District of Texas, and U.S. Court of Appeals, Fifth Circuit.
Ms. Snapka is Board Certified in Personal Injury Trial Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization and Board Certified in Civil Trial Law by the National Board of Trial Advocates.
Ms. Snapka is also a Fellow of the American College of Trial Lawyers. The College is composed of the best of the Trial bar from the United States and Canada. Fellowship in the College is extended by invitation only and only after careful investigation, to those experienced trial lawyers who have mastered the art of advocacy and whose professional careers have been marked by the highest standards of ethical conduct, professionalism, civility and collegiality. There are currently only 5,838 members in the United States and Canada, including Fellows, Emeritus Fellows, Judicial Fellows ( those who ascended to the bench after their induction) and Honorary Fellows.
Ms. Snapka’s memberships include the Corpus Christi Bar Association (Director 1984 – 1986); District 11A Grievance Committee (Panel Chair 11A2, 1993 – 1999); State Bar of Texas; American Bar Association; Texas Trial Lawyers Association; The American Association for Justice, Associate; American Board of Trial Advocates; Tex-ABOTA (President 2002); Texas Board of Legal Specialization Personal Injury Trial Law Advisory Commission (1999 – 2005); and Master of the Bench in the Reynaldo G. Garza’s American Inns of Court. She has earned Martindale-Hubbell’s highest rating “AV” and has been named a Texas Super Lawyer by Texas Monthly magazine every year since 2003, the year the rating was begun. In 2007, she was named one of the 50 Top Women Lawyers by Texas Monthly.
Ms. Snapka has been lead counsel in landmark cases which have resulted in substantial recoveries for her clients. She is a nationally recognized speaker on trial advocacy and product liability issues. Her practice is limited to complex personal injury, pharmaceutical and commercial litigation.
